Partnerships for children with SPG4
Companies can fund the research stages that are hardest to finance in a rare disease that can begin in childhood — through a clear sponsorship contract, with verifiable reporting on how the money is used.

Why partner with us
Partnering with us means funding directed to science, in a relationship where every amount can be traced.
Impact where funding is missing
Rare diseases attract little commercial investment. A company’s contribution can support precisely the early stages that open the way to grants and larger studies.
Reporting you can check
We publish amounts received, committed and spent separately. Partners receive reports on the activities and projects they supported.
A clear legal framework
Every sponsorship is based on a written contract under Romanian Law no. 32/1994, with a defined object, value, duration and obligations.
A cause employees can take part in
Briefings on SPG4 and genetic research, volunteering and internal giving campaigns, adapted to your company’s culture.
What you can support
You can choose a direction, or we can build a package together. The use of funds is set out in the contract.
- A research project
- Full or partial funding of a project selected through independent scientific review, with documented objectives, budget and timeline.
- Research infrastructure
- Resources that several studies can build on — for example, patient-derived cell models, obtained with the patients’ consent and ethics approval.
- Awareness and information
- Scientifically checked materials about SPG4 in Romanian, for families, doctors and the wider public.
- Employee programmes
- Internal giving campaigns in which the company can match employee donations, and briefings at your offices or online.
- Expertise and in-kind support
- Pro bono services — legal, accounting, IT, communications, logistics — or goods the association needs, documented in writing.
Sponsorship packages
Benefits are limited to name and brand visibility and to reporting, as the law allows. The exact amount, duration and use of funds are agreed together in the contract.

Request a contractLegal and tax framework
What Romanian law says about sponsorship. The tax effects depend on each company’s situation.
Law no. 32/1994 on sponsorship
- The contract must be in writing and state the object, value and duration of the sponsorship, as well as the rights and obligations of the parties.
- Eligible fields include scientific research — fundamental and applied — and the medical and health field.
- The sponsor’s name, brand or image may be made public, but the sponsorship may not be used for commercial advertising for the sponsor.
- The sponsor may not seek to influence the beneficiary’s activity. With us, the selection of research projects remains an independent scientific decision.
Tax treatment for the company
Indicative information, checked on 6 November 2026. This is not tax advice; please consult your company’s accountant or tax adviser before signing a contract.
The association’s status in ANAF’s register of eligible entities (RUC): to be confirmed
The tax reduction applies only if the association is in the RUC on the date the contract is signed. The register is public and can be checked on the ANAF website.
- Profit-tax payers
- The sponsorship amount is subtracted from the profit tax due, up to the lower of two limits: 0.75% of turnover and 20% of the profit tax due (art. 25(4)(i) of the Romanian Fiscal Code). The expense itself is not deductible.
- No carry-forward for sponsorships since 2022
- For sponsorships made from 1 January 2022, amounts above the limit can no longer be carried forward to later years.
- Redirection through Form 177
- If the limit has not been fully used, the company may choose to redirect the remaining profit-tax amount through Form 177, by the deadline of the annual profit-tax return (D101). ANAF pays the amount only if the beneficiary is in the RUC on the payment date, and the conditions may change from year to year.
- Microenterprises
- Since 1 January 2024 (Law no. 296/2023), microenterprises can no longer subtract sponsorship from microenterprise income tax. Sponsorship remains possible, but without a tax reduction.
- Form D107
- Profit-tax payers that sponsor file the D107 information return on beneficiaries by the D101 deadline. This is the sponsor’s obligation.
